Birthanukkah

Ahhh! You smell that? The chill breeze in the air, the slow turn of color on the trees, yes you know the season.. Or maybe you dont? Well its Birthanukkah season! Birthanukkah is the week prior to my birthday.

Birthanukkah started my freshman year at Virginia Intermont College. Being my first birthday away from home I was a little sad. So my mom decided to individually wrap seven gifts that I would open each day. This was an amazing solution! I would gather with my friends and open on each night at midnight and the call my mom in the morning to thank her! Now that I’ve graduated from not one but two colleges I am beyond please that the tradition of  Birthanukkah  has continued.

Today is Day One (October 7th) and here is today’s gift! Beautiful Japanese owl salt and pepper shakers.

This classic japanese hand made owls match owl mugs and sugar jar that I received  two years ago.
