rushing here and there.
I had a fabulous weekend away, only to return to my real life and rush around to get my finals done. And this coming weekend is another one away, I’ll be shooting my best friend’s sister’s wedding. Tonight is a kind of going away party, and by that I meaning we’re going to see a play at the Lansburgh Theatre tonight, for my dear friend Nicole who has accepted a job out in Los Angeles and is moving this week.

They’re married!
Dear friends, they’re married, and thats all that really matters. Even if everyone who was supposed to come couldn’t, there were still a lot in attendance. A lot more than I expected, which was wonderful. The snow kept coming down all day. It was magical. After getting ready in the church’s nursery, we rushed outside around to the front of the sanctuary to walk down the aisle. I’m sure the photographer took some great pictures of us skittering in the snow. I can’t wait to see them. Everyone involved in the wedding was more than accommodating and super willing to help out with anything. After moving the wedding up to noon, a local hotel had a conference room available and was able to host a small reception. By luck or divine intervention the colors in the room where the same colors of the wedding, red and gold. Everything worked out, this was the most planned wedding, that ended up being the most unplanned wedding, and I couldn’t imagine how it could have been better. As I said, the important thing is they’re married.
I didn’t take too many pictures at the wedding, because of the madness that existed and because I was in it. So here are some from last night rehearsal dinner, and a few from today.
This is why we’re meant for each other.
Fluffing the dress.
Now the deed and day is done, time to relax with the family. Oh right.. that doesn’t really happen. OH BROTHER(s). I’ve got two, anyone interested in one? They come attached to some very nice ladies, so it kind of balances them out.. kinda.

short and sweet(ish).
i would write something here, but my past few days have been bizarre to fully recall right now. I have to make a lot of hard decisions right now, so let’s just panic.
i need a new best friend,
my old one simply wont do,
oh no dear, i dont mean you-
or maybe i do.
Dear Friend, as you know
I spoke with my close friend Meg tonight, she is such a wonderful person. Pretty much we just talked about our lives, our problems. That is a true friend, someone who will listen to you and tell you the truth, tell you if you’re off the mark, or if your struggles are just what happens. No one is perfect, no one wants to hear “fine”, “mkay”, or “good” when ask about someone’s life. I want to know about you, and how you are doing! Thats why I asked. Don’t give me one word, you cannot sum up your life in one word. And if you can- must be a pretty poor life you lead.
I went to see my friend Drew’s band Elby Brass tonight at one of my favorite restaurants Sammy T’s. They were amazing. Standing room only should be changed to dancing room only. They were a riot. Tonight was their first official show so I can’t wait for more from them. That is for them to learn more songs so their set will be longer! I think everyone in attendance tonight will agree that they’re happy for what they have completed so far, but eagerly wait for more. Especially more tuba players dancing on the bar- oh yes my friends it was that kind of a night.
I’m a little disappointed that I’ve not photographed here in the house as much as I did during my last stay. My last stay at the house I regimented myself to do a series of pictures of what my bed looked like every morning when I woke up. The bed I stay in has taupe sheets and the creases and folds of the sheet and blanket look like a topographical map. The series title is Beauty in Entropy”. My friend ChrisJ. described the images as looking like “krinkled paper” and then called it “beauty in entropy”. Lacking an extensive vocabulary, I had to look up entropy, where I found this.. “lack of order or predictability; gradual decline into disorder.” To view those photos they can be found here.

Hatteras!
For the next two weeks I am in Cape Hatteras for a shooting class. So far it’s been pretty relaxing and exciting. We have mini class discussing photo topics that we normal wouldn’t take the time during the school year. So far all we’ve done is learned about panoramics, which are awesome! And surprisingly simple. I wanted to think that they were so much more difficult because they can look so amazing. We also talked about the idea of shooting in the same style as a pano but using to expand even slightly a scene. Its really changed the way I think about taking pictures.
